IRS Requirements: W-9 & 1099-MISC

Individual taxpayers should not be requesting a W-9, only businesses. The IRS requires all businesses to have a current W-9 on file prior to making any payments including property taxes. Businesses only should e-mail the W-9 request to Treasurer@ttc.ocgov.com with a fax number.

The request for a W-9 from the County of Orange can be e-mailed to: treasurer@ttc.ocgov.com.

Requests are usually completed within a few days.

Please provide a fax number and we will fax the signed request to the fax number you provide. Please note, we will not e-mail the signed form for security reasons, however, upon special request we may mail it.

Please provide us with your name and contact information as well as the company’s name, address and fax number.

The County of Orange is tax-exempt, therefore, does not need to receive a 1099-MISC form from your company.
